Sunday-Chagny
Arrival in Chagny by private transfer. A champagne reception allows you to meet your crew and later enjoy your first dining experience onboard.
Monday-Cruise to Fragnes, Visit Chassagne Montrachet
Enjoy your first cruise along the beautiful Canal du Centre. Take the chance to walk or cycle alongside or just enjoy the scenery from the sundeck as the barge navigates the many locks of the winding canal. After lunch onboard, take a drive through the renowned Burgundy vineyards for a private tour and tasting at the Chateau of Chassagne Montrachet and an insight into the world of Burgundy wine.
Tuesday-Cruise to St Jean de Losne, Visit Beaune
The morning cruise sees us join the majestic river Saone via the impressive lock at Crissey and a leisurely cruise upstream takes us to the town of Seurre, where we disembark after lunch to visit the historic city of Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy. Here we enjoy a private tour of the magnificent 15th century Hotel Dieu, a splendidly decorated charity hospital which represents both the history of Burgundy and the story of its wine! There will be time to enjoy the charming town and its shops before returning to the barge moored in St Jean de Losne, an inland waterways capital on the Saone.
Wednesday-Cruise to Dole, visit Dole
Today we join the Rhone Rhine canal to cruise towards Dole, ancient capital of the Franche Comte region. We will take lunch in the nearby" La Chaumiere" restaurant before enjoying a walking tour of this little known but charming old town, where Louis Pasteur was born and Burgundian and French armies once fought for supremacy.
Thursday-Cruise to Osselle, visit Arbois
A gorgeous cruise along the canal, with the Doubs river alongside, is in store this morning, before taking a trip to the little wine town of Arbois, world famous as the home of the famous "vin jaune" and the developing career of the brilliant scientist Louis Pasteur. Enjoy the charming old town,nestled in the vines and discover the local wines at a private tasting before returning to the barge in Osselle.
Friday-Cruise to Besancon, Visit Besancon
Our final, stunning cruise brings us to wonderful Besancon, present day Capital of the Franche Comte region, mooring at the foot of the Citadelle on the edge of this beautiful old city. After lunch we tour the historic citadelle, discovering the rich history of the area and enjoying the many museums, rampart walks and views contained within this historic site. This evening the chef prepares a special gala dinner onboard.
Saturday-Besancon
After breakfast and a fond farewell from the crew, depart for your onward travel arrangements by private transfer.
